Krillion Unlimited Scoring
Krillion Unlimited checks your typed answer against the fixed answer set for the current prompt. Each accepted answer already has a tier and point value; the game does not generate a new score after you submit.
Answer tiers and depth
| Tier | Points | Depth added |
|---|---|---|
| PLANKTON | 10 | 100m |
| TOO CLEVER | 15 | 150m |
| SCHOOLER | 30 | 300m |
| RARE | 60 | 600m |
| DEEP CUT | 85 | 850m |
| ONE IN A KRILLION | 100 | 1000m |
Each point adds 10 metres to your dive. Final depth is the sum of the seven prompt scores multiplied by 10. The highest possible result under these rules is 700 points, or 7,000 metres. Your results screen shows your actual submitted answers and the points awarded for each.
Independent scores, with a clear boundary
The diving format is inspired by the original game's classic Daily Dive. This site independently maintains its answer sets and tier assignments. More familiar accepted answers usually receive lower tiers, while less obvious accepted answers usually receive higher tiers. These are editorial values; they are not a survey of players, measured worldwide rarity, or official per-word scores.
There are no global rankings or invented comparisons with other players. A local best is your best result on this site in this browser. Random dives can differ in difficulty, so that number is a personal record rather than a calibrated competition rating.
Accepted, unrecognized, ambiguous and timed out
- Accepted: the answer or an explicitly recorded alias matches one entry within the prompt's scope. It receives that entry's fixed score.
- Unrecognized: the response is not in this version's set. The message does not claim that the response is false in the real world. An accepted answer locks the prompt. If your response is unrecognized or ambiguous, you can try another answer while the original 25-second timer runs. Retries do not reset or extend it.
- Ambiguous: the input does not identify a single accepted answer. Use a full name when you retry, rather than expecting the game to choose an interpretation. The same original deadline still applies.
- Timed out: the answer window has expired. If you have typed a non-empty draft when time expires, it is submitted automatically and checked against the same answer set. With an empty draft, the prompt times out for zero points. An unrecognized or ambiguous draft at the deadline also finishes for zero points; there is no retry after the deadline.
- Game error: a technical problem is reported separately and is not scored as a wrong answer.
Spelling, names and scope
Capitalization and surrounding spaces do not change a match. Common aliases are included explicitly where they identify the same answer. The game does not silently reinterpret every typo or merge names that could mean different things. Scope notes and dates keep each prompt's answer boundary clear.
What is in this version?
This version's bank contains 70 distinct prompts covering Geography, Animals, Science, Food, Sports, Arts & Entertainment, Music. Question records include their scope, answer sets, aliases, source references and review method. Factual answer-list data is adapted from Wikipedia contributors. Prompts, scopes, aliases, selection and tier assignments have been modified for this independent version. Read the answer-set data, per-question sources and review methods. Fact sets are adapted into independent prompts and scores; source attribution and reuse notes are retained in that file. Data is available under CC BY-SA 4.0.
The bank and rules are locked when a dive begins. Updating the site does not recalculate a saved dive with a different set of scores. After the bank has been explored, repeats are possible and play remains free.
